I hope the turkey sleepies are hitting you just right. Let's work on your next breakthrough as you settle into your armchair!
💬 In the next 3 minutes:
The fact that you're reading this sentence tells you something.
Can you be thankful and limbless?
Thank you.
💪 Minute 1 - Gratitude is a muscle.
The fact that you're reading this sentence means you're richer and more educated than 99% of the world. We are more blessed than we often take time to soak in. Regardless of how much we might hurt, the vast majority of us have so many things to be thankful for.
Gratitude is like a muscle. If it is exercised regularly, we become stronger and more resilient. But if the muscle is left alone, you lose it.
I know how easy it is to get caught up in the daily grind, focusing on what I lack rather than the abundance that surrounds me.
Gratitude is the skill of happiness. It requires practice and effort and habit. But it’s a skill anyone can learn and anyone can do. And you can start it today, right now.
💡 Gratitude Challenge: every morning, when you wake up, while you brush your teeth, look in the mirror and think of five things you’re grateful for.
🦵 Minute 2 - The gratitude of a limbless man.
Aussie-American Nick Vujicic was born in 1982, to the shock of his parents and doctors, without limbs. He said this about gratitude:
"I have the choice to be angry at God for what I don't have, or be thankful for what I do have."
🦃 Minute 3 - Thank you.
Before I sign off and go stuff my face with some turkey, I want to take a quick moment to express my deepest gratitude to you. Your willingness to open my emails, engage with my thoughts, and share your own perspectives is what makes this whole newsletter thing worthwhile. Thank you for being an awesome community!
Now, I'm passing the gratitude torch to you. This week, I challenge you to reach out to someone who has positively impacted your life and express your appreciation. Let them know how much they mean to you, whether it's a friend, family member, colleague, or even a friendly barista. You get bonus points if you buy them coffee with it.
📬 Remember: Small changes lead to lasting breakthroughs. Comment and let me know how it went.
